Commis is a brand crafted not just to be seen, but felt.

Tucked away in Collingwood, Commis is more than a cocktail bar or restaurant - it’s an eclectic, understated space that feels part wine bar, part gallery, and entirely community-driven. We worked closely with owners Adina and Dan, to create a brand that reflected their shared love for hospitality and hands-on approach.

The custom, hand-drawn logo takes cues from a painter’s signature - personal, expressive, and quietly confident - setting the tone for the venue’s minimal signage. For the menu, we paired the logo with a clean sans-serif typeface to balance character with clarity. Every detail, down to the DIY branding iron used to stamp coasters, reflects the founders’ craftsmanship and care (Dan even built much of the furniture himself!). This is a brand built not just to be seen, but felt.
